May’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box included:
Everclen Facial Toner, $15 – This brand keeps poppin’ up in VCBBs and they’re always featuring different products, which is nice. I’m pretty particular about toners. Lately I’ve been all about simple rose water toner because it’s great for dry skin (and my skin is hella thirsty!). This one has a bit of an alcohol-y scent and it has kind of a long list of ingredients for a toner: water (aqua), aloe barbadensis leaf juice, glycerin, glycereth 26, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, bisabolol, beta glucan, sodium hyaluronate, allantoin, anhydroxylitol, maltodextrin, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, panthenol, hydroxyethylcellulose, xylitylglucoside, xylitol, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol. This toner isn’t quite my style, but I’m happy to pass it on to a friend. It is made without parabens, phthalates, petroleum, DEAs, and fragrance which is a plus.
The Granola Goat Red Raspberry Seed Oil and Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil Face Serum,* $4 – I love this for so many reasons! First, the packaging/branding is adorbs! 🙂 It has a simple, quaint, indie vibe. And how about that name!? This serum smells sososoooo good! It’s has and earthy and floral/dreamy scent thanks to frankincense, helichrysum, lavender, myrrh, rose, and sandalwood essential oils. It’s in an anti-aging base of cold pressed red raspberry seed oil and organic seabuckthorn berry oil to boot! I use oil-based serums pretty much nightly, so this is of course, a box fave. 🙂
Molly Rose Balms Exfoliating Grapefruit Basil Body Scrub,* $2 – Diggity dang, this smells crazy good, too! Grapefruit and basil seems like such a unique scent combo, but they really complement each other nicely. I almost always use body scrubs as hand scrubs, and this is the perfect size for a couple treatments. Love the chunky bits of basil, too – makes it seem extra fresh and fancy.
Medusa’s Makeup Bronzer (VCBB subscribers either received a Medusa’s Makeup lip gloss, blush, or bronzer), $12 – This bronzer is super pretty sitting in its pan. It’s shimmery and pigmented, and the fact that it comes with a mirror is def a bonus. While the color is gorgeous, the ingredients are slightly out of my comfort zone: talc, mica, mineral oil, magnesium, stearate, calcium, starch, octenylsuccinate, kaolin, polyisobutene, ethylhexyl palmitate, petrolatum sorbitan sesquioleate, methylparaben propylparaben, bht, pigment. May contain: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, d&c red no.6, d&c red no.7, d&c red no.21, d&c red no.27, fd&c blue no.1, fd&c yellow no.5. Gah, I’m starting to sound like a “green” prude. 😉 This is something I could see myself wearing from time to time, but not necessarily for everyday wear.
Terre Mere Cosmetics Blush Brush,* $34 – The synthetic bristles on this thang are sooooo soft. It’s also an elegant looking angled brush, which can be used for contouring, highlighting, or applying blush. Excited to welcome this bad boy to my makeup brush family.
*faves from this month’s box
Overall impression: There’s a lot of bang for the buck in this month’s beauty box (everything together is valued at $67!), and it was a lovely mix of skin care and makeup! Box faves: Terre Mereblush brush, The Granola Goat face serum, and Molly Rose Balms body scrub (or in my case, hand scrub).
